17 Years on Auckland's Roads: What We've Learned

Supercity Towing was founded in 2006 with two trucks and a simple idea: Auckland deserved a towing company that actually showed up on time and treated people with respect. Seventeen years later, that idea is still the heart of everything we do.

A lot has changed since those early days. Auckland has grown enormously — the population has increased, the motorways have expanded, and the traffic has, well, done what Auckland traffic does. Our fleet has grown from two trucks to over 20 specialist vehicles. We've added secure storage, carpark management, heavy recovery, and fleet services. We now operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The things that don't change

But some things haven't changed at all. Every tow we do, someone is having a bad day. A breakdown on the motorway. An accident. A vehicle where it shouldn't be. We show up for those moments, and we try to make them a little less stressful.

The best feedback we ever get isn't about speed or price — it's about how our drivers made someone feel. That a driver waited with an elderly woman until her daughter arrived. That a driver helped a tourist figure out what to do after an accident far from home. That's the stuff that matters.

Looking ahead

Auckland is changing fast, and so is the towing industry. Electric vehicles bring new challenges for roadside assistance and recovery. The city is growing outward, requiring faster response times across a larger area. We're investing in training, equipment, and technology to stay ahead.

But our goal in year 18 is the same as it was in year one: be there when you need us, do the job right, and treat you like a human being. Thanks for trusting us with your vehicles — and your worst days — for 17 years.
